The Royal Brompton Hospital

Client: Royal Brompton + Harefield NHS Trust

Project: Foulis Cystic Fibrosis Ward

Material: Wallpaper | Glazing | Signage | Prints

Date: 2013

Design and production of a series of artworks for Foulis Ward, a Cystic Fibrosis unit at the Royal Brompton Hospital.

Creative consultation was carried out with patients who have to spend protracted periods of time in hospital and away for the outdoors. The theme for the work generated through the engagement sessions was ‘Everyday Landscapes’ in order to bring outside scenes into the hospital.

Park, street, beach and countryside landscapes were featured as wallpapers throughout the ward and shapes that were incorporated as a backdrop throughout all the designs, linked the pieces together and provided graphic elements that were used for the ward signage.
